Personnel Officer
Assists in maintaining the functionality and integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), KRONOS, by establishing documented internal processes and procedures for human resources staff members regarding data entry, data management, and data storage; Systematizes, implements, and administers uses of the KRONOS HRIS to enhance productivity and produce efficiencies in employee data collection, storage, and reporting capabilities of employee records and other related data.
Assists employees with customer service needs with personal changes; benefit updates, enrollments and inquiries; Processes payroll changes as requested, including the maintenance of the longevity and substitute pay programs; Processes annual ACA compliance documents and related reporting; Functions in the role of Personnel Officer regarding the resolution of employee discrimination and harassment complaints; Conducts investigations regarding discrimination and/or harassment claims initiated by employees; Conducts interviews, gathers data, and any other follow up required regarding employee complaints; Consults with Director of Human Resources as necessary and maintains related documents and files; Advises employees and managers on legal requirements and Board guidelines of human resource programs such as FMLA, ADA, OSHA reporting, Worker’s Compensation, unemployment and Equal Employment Opportunity matters; Facilitates the Board’s Internal Program for employee certification and licensure as it pertains to the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, Service and Support Administration Certification Standards, education training approvals and the Ohio Department of Education pertaining to all educator licensures; Maintains related computerized records to ensure the integrity of the data and re-certification and re-licensing requirements; Assists staff as necessary with applications and questions; Advises and instructs department Employment Specialist working with employees who have experienced a workplace injury or illness to ensure that their claim is processed appropriately via the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation; Recommends strategies for effective claims management and agency safety practices related to work injuries; Maintains oversight of the Board’s Transitional Work Program; Oversees required reporting and communications to ensure program compliance; Acts as Administrator of Relias Learning Management System; Creates curriculums, modules, events and reports as necessary to meet desired training outcomes; Assists in agency training events as requested such as special programs, agency In-Service activities, or coordinating the data entry of all training records; Performs special projects as directed; Utilizes computer and office systems in conjunction with appropriate software to generate correspondence, reports and confidential records.
