    Position Description:
    Description
    The human resources information systems coordinator will perform duties related to the operations of the human resource office. The primary focus is payroll, compensation, and benefits administration, under the direction of the HR Manager.



    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Directs departmental phone calls and incoming fax/mail.
    • Schedules and organizes appointments; take minutes during departmental meetings.
    • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, position changes, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
    • Maintains optimal function of the HRIS, including troubleshooting, customization, development, and review of applications, systems, and modules.
    • Review time-entry validation and other payroll report to verify accuracy of time-entry and resulting pay implications; follow-up to ensure accurate and complete payroll entries.
    • Explain payroll and time entry policies and procedures to employees; research and respond to inquiries from management, employees, and third parties.
    • Calculate and enter wage assignments, garnishments, levies, military pay, etc.
    • Calculate and prepare manual checks and update the system.
    • Process monthly bonuses, reports, severance, other payments, etc.
    • Prepare, balance and distribute payroll funding requests and associated vendor payments for all payrolls;      prepare and enter adjustments in the system to correct employee records.
    • COBRA administration.
    • Assist in New Hire Orientation; new hire entry into HRIS software.
    • E-filing and hard filing.
    • Interact and communicate with all employees in a professional, friendly manner.
    • Answer employment verification requests.
    • Assist with general HR correspondence.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    Requirements:

    · Strong professional presence; proven ability to effectively deal with senior-level executives.

    · Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in teams.

    · Excellent time-management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, must possess a high level of reading comprehension

    · Current and ongoing knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    Ability to maintain confidential information.
    · No Supervisory responsibilities

    · This is a full-time position, standard hours Monday – Friday of 40 hours per week. Some overtime, as necessary based upon projects

    · Minimal travel, upon occasion with an advance request provided

    Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent required.
    College degree in Business / Human Resource or      relevant focus preferred
    Professional office setting experience      required
    Previous accounting or payroll experience required
    Certification in payroll preferred


    Physical Requirements:

    · Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    · Moderated temperature; office environment

    · Occasional requirement to lift a minimum of forty (40) pounds

    · Bending at waist level for files, and accessing needed items

    · Exposure to computer screens and telephones

    · Low to moderate noise level within this setting
