HR Generalist

    Human Resources Generalist

    Akron Polymer Products (APPI) is currently seeking a highly motivated HR Generalist who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.  APPI is a manufacturer of extruded thermoplastic tubing products serving the automotive and transportation industries.

    The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    •             Utilization of HR software to manage employee entry, payroll, and employee

            benefits, for our OH, MS and AZ locations.

    •             Organize and file hard and soft copies of employee records and form I-9’s.

    •             Process documentation and prepare reports relating to performance evaluations.

    •             Take appropriate disciplinary action and address employee grievances as needed.

    •             Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees health

            and safety.

    •             Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human

            resource federal and state requirements and conducting investigations as needed.

    •             Oversee employee labor and HR federal laws and regulations to assure

            compliance.

    •             Review and select resumes during the recruiting process and schedule

            accordingly.

    •             Coordination of staffing and recruitment processes. Focus on hiring and retention

            challenges as needed. Function as liaison with employment agencies.

    •             Recommend and develop employee relations practices to foster a positive

            employer-employee relationship.

    •             Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for

            all positions according to HR objectives.

    •             Administer benefits information such as medical, dental, vision and 401k benefits,

            open enrollment, FMLA, worker’s compensation, layoffs, leaves of absences,

            unemployment.

    •             Coordinate New Employee Orientation for hourly and salaried employees,

            background checks, and pre-employment tests.

    •             Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations.

    •             Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human

            resource federal and state

    •             Arrange seminars, workshops, additional HR training, and conferences based on

            each department needs.

    •             Generate internal documents such as offer letters, interview confirmations,

            disciplinary letters, etc.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    •             Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent years’

            experience. HRCI and/or SHRM certification a plus.

    •             Five (5) years’ experience working in an HR position, preferably in a manufacturing

            environment.

    •             Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    •             Ability to manage time and prioritize workload.

    •             Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive company and employee

            information.

    •             Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact and communicate

            with individuals at all levels of the company, verbally and in writing.

    •             Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Paycom experience a plus.
