HR Generalist

    Western Reserve Hospital


    Provides human resources support for various projects and company initiatives. Coordinates employee communication and maintains/enhances Employee Gateway content. Serves as first point of contact for visitors and employees. Coordinates employment verification, supports employment processes and HRMS processing.


    1.      Actively participates on HR team to develop processes and policies and work on special projects. Manages HR Policy and Procedure manual to ensure timely policy updates. Manages front desk function, serves as first point of contact for department visitors and employees.

    2.      Ensures smooth on-boarding process as applicable and serves as resource for newly hired staff members. Supports all HR functions, ensure efficient processes and seeks out process improvement initiatives. 

    3.      Coordinates Human Resources communication, maintains and enhances content available on Employee Gateway. Ensures content is up to date and current; works with departments to further expand hospital-wide information available. Provides training as indicated for managers/employees.

    4.      Maintains familiarity with HRMS and assists in data management/processing. Exports/imports data as applicable; performs data processing within HRMS. Performs regular audits, licensure and employment verification.

    5.      Maintains employee files to ensure HFAP compliance.


    1.      Education and Training
    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, healthcare administration or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

    2.      Experience
    One (1) to three (3) years human resources experience; healthcare experience preferred. Meaningful HR internship experience may be substituted for experience requirement.

    3.      Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
    •       Excellent communication skills required
    •       Must have and maintain technical computer skills; knowledge of HRMS systems, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    4.      Population Specific Competency 
    The incumbent will have the ability to effectively interact with populations of the patient (and his or her representative) with a sensitivity to the communication needs (other language, deaf or blind) and with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
