To create a truly diverse and inclusive environment at work, there has to be clear standards of acceptance AND accountability. It cannot be enough to promote acceptance, claim inclusivity and tout visibility if there is no system of accountability in conjunction.
Statistics indicate that while acceptance is a feeling, accountability is an action that employers need to be responsible for. Employers can’t just say we don’t discriminate; they also have to be able to effectively handle discrimination.
Transgender people are unemployed at twice the rate of the national average, according to the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. So what are YOU "ACTUALLY" going to do about it?
