July Breakfast Meeting - Opiate Epidemic: Our Community Response

Janis Beckett, CDCA, MBA

This presentation will give an overview of the opiate epidemic and its impact on the community. Information given will include how to tell if someone is using and resources if someone needs help.
Janis Beckett, CDCA, MBA is the Director of Chemical Dependency Services at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Edwin Shaw Rehabilitation Hospital, and is a member of the Summit County Opiate Task Force Speakers Bureau and Healthcare Subcommittee.
Janis also volunteers as the Assistant Director for the ARC Recovery Homes ministry, has held the position of Director for an outreach ministry that visits jails and institutions, and has served on the Advisory Board for HM Life Opportunity Services where she facilitated the agency’s Mobile Mom’s program.
Janis has an Associate’s Degree in Legal Assisting from the University of Akron, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Walsh University, a Mater’s Degree in Business Administration from Walsh University, and is a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant.
